HAMILTON, N.J. – June 10, 2013 – Sparta Systems, Inc., an industry pioneer and leader in enterprise quality management software (EQMS) solutions, announced today that Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine, an international B2B publication that provides mission-critical editorial to address the issues and challenges of the supply chain, has recognized the Company as a SDCE 100 award honoree for its work with Ferring Pharmaceuticals, a research-driven, specialty biopharmaceutical group active in global markets. Ferring has its headquarters in Saint-Prex, Switzerland, operate from more than 50 countries and employ more than 4500 people throughout the world, while treatments are available in more than 90 countries

As a life science company, computer system inventory and quality management are a top priority for Ferring Pharmaceuticals. Relying on Sparta Systems’ EQMS solution, TrackWise, it is now possible for the Ferring to manage and report on all of its quality processes, track the status of activities in real time and identify and analyze issues and trends as they arise. The solution’s ability to act as a centralized system to automate a multitude of global quality processes across the enterprise makes Ferring’s implementation one of the industry’s “100 Great Supply Chain Projects.”

For over ten years, TrackWise (managed by Ferring Global QA) has played a key role in helping to ensure the high quality products and smooth maintenance of Ferring operations. Meeting the evolving needs of Ferring system’s users, TrackWise has been incrementally upgraded to include additional functionalities including complaints management, change management, deviation and maintenance, audit and supplier assessment, inspection and quality risk management.

One key area the TrackWise system improves for Ferring is the management of customer complaints:

"An evolving product like TrackWise is invaluable to our organization. The improvements module will allow the trending of customer complaints across all manufacturing and marketing& sales sites,  allowing users to identify issues with specific products in multiple countries or similar issues across multiple products.  This direct user feedback and tracking ability will also help increase response times and decrease administrative errors," says Flemming Simonsen, Global Quality Assurance Director.

Supply & Demand Chain Executive, the executive’s user manual for successful supply and demand chain transformation, recognizes innovative transformation projects that deliver bottom-line value to small, medium and large enterprises across the range of supply chain functions that industry professionals face today through the SDCE 100 awards program. The supply chain projects featured in this awards program serve as a roadmap for new opportunities to drive operational improvements.
