  • Sparta Systems Strengthens TrackWise® Enterprise Class Quality Management Solution with Robust Web Services Capabilities

Heightened Sensitivity to Risk and Pressure for More Efficient Operations Drive Need for Seamless Integration of Quality and Operational Processes

HOLMDEL, NJ – March 17, 2009 – Sparta Systems, the market leader in enterprise quality management and compliance software, today introduced best-in-class Web Services capabilities for its TrackWise® Enterprise Quality Management Solution (EQMS). The new functionality enables TrackWise to seamlessly integrate with leading ERP systems and other entrenched enterprise software applications, reducing time to implement and facilitating a dramatic increase in the efficiency and effectiveness of best-of-breed, consolidated quality systems.

Recent trends in regulatory enforcement are demonstrating that it is no longer sufficient to simply have effective standalone solutions, and companies are increasingly being expected to close the disconnect points between key enterprise systems.  Companies in industries such as pharmaceutical/biotech, medical device and food and beverage require software solutions that enable integration with existing systems while continuing to extend quality management functionality across the increasingly global supply chain.  Additionally, the prevalence of mergers and acquisitions in these markets further supports the critical need for rapidly deployable global EQMS, while also presenting the challenging necessity to deliver integration in complex, highly varied application ecosystems.

TrackWise’s new Web Services functionality enables this market-leading EQMS to perform real-time interaction with enterprise software systems including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).  Rather than following a fragmented approach, Sparta has implemented an architectural evolution embedding Web Services throughout the core functions of the product.  Following Sparta’s long-standing product strategy to allow user-friendly configuration and deployment, the implementation of Web Services is accomplished predominantly through an extension of existing user interface-based administration.  This approach greatly alleviates the necessity for highly technical implementation support, thereby reducing total cost of deployment and maintenance.

“The continued attention to and prevalence of quality systems at the enterprise level has created a real need to have highly interactive real-time integration with the other key applications in the ecosystem,” said Mike Jovanis, vice president product management, Sparta Systems. “TrackWise equips our customers with a level of versatility that allows for the consolidation of quality systems that map directly to their core operations.  These new Web Services capabilities further extend this versatility by enabling seamless processes that interact with the appropriate external applications in real time.  This empowers companies to achieve an accelerated level of efficiency and effectiveness, ultimately increasing the return across all their software investments.”

Furthermore, TrackWise is now well-equipped to interact in environments leveraging service-oriented architecture (SOA) for efficient, reusable integration.  For example, harmonized, global TrackWise deployments have been the catalyst for organizations to implement modern integration strategies, bridging the gap between quality data and processes that span multiple disconnected ERP systems.  In the current economic climate, it is critical for companies to make the most effective use of their existing solutions, avoiding costly customization and system replacements that are not absolutely necessary.

“Organizations that do not deeply embed quality management into their manufacturing and value chain operations weaken their competitive standings in the market and expose their brands to great risks,” said Simon Jacobson, research director at AMR Research in his report “Market Outlook: Make Quality a Strategic Priority Now”. “As companies evolve these strategies from an afterthought to an integrated component of the overall end-to-end product and service process, the concept of streamlining and integrating quality-related risk strategies into collaborative supply chain processes is imperative.”

Sparta Systems will be demonstrating its TrackWise® EQMS solution at the Interphex Conference in New York, March 17-19, 2009 at booth # 3200.  To request additional information or to schedule a product briefing, please contact: Katy Zack, kzack@articulatepr.com or 212.255.0800, ext. 11.
