Required Skills:
Working closely with our team of developers and QA analysts, you will understand and anticipate the engineering infrastructure, build and continuous integration and delivery needs of our Agile SDLC development and QA processes. This is a hands-on highly technical role leading R&D projects and teams to successful delivery of projects by planning, coordinating and leading activities.
  • Expertise in the areas of engineering ops; 5+ years in design, development and configuration of engineering infrastructure systems and build automation with overall 8+ years related experience
  • Implement scalable and shared build, test, and deployment automation systems
  • Work across functional (development/testing, deployment, systems/infrastructure) and project teams to ensure continuous operation of build and test systems
  • Must have experience in one or more of the following configuration frameworks with distributed build automation tools (Jenkins, CI, SFDC Builds, Sonar etc.)
  • Must have some experience with Java, BI and application development, SFDC development experience will be a major plus
  • Solid working knowledge of source control management systems (i.e. Git) and effective code branching/merging strategies. Experience in build-time dependency management tools and practices (Maven, NuGet)
Preferred Skills:
  • B.S. Engineering or another related discipline, or equivalent appropriate work experience
  • Overall experience in the range of 8+ years with at least 5 years of experience in a large-scale enterprise platform support, focused on build and release engineering, DevOps / Development or QA
  • Expertise in workflow/pipeline automation leveraging Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) workflows
  • Multi-disciplined professional with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Evaluate new products & systems and make proposals to improve operations.
  • Management and Monitoring of Engineering Infrastructure Systems.
  • Consider cost implications of design choices.
  • Troubleshooting of issues and defects with Engineering Infrastructure.
  • Liaison with vendors on the support of commercial engineering products.
  • Deep understanding of engineering practices, SDLC, Agile/Scrum and the application of those practices through the deployment of tools and systems.
  • Develops and maintains build and continuous integration systems
  • Leads release management activities for product releases.
  • Ensures compliance with source code escrow agreements.
  • Systems may include Requirements, Traceability, Tasks, Test Case Management, Test Result Management, Time Tracking, Automated Build, Release management, Source Code Management, Third Party component repository, etc.
  • Ownership of assigned software, infrastructure, and non-software deliverables.
  • Works with corporate IT to ensure successful disaster recovery and business continuity plans are in place.
  • Liaison with corporate IT to coordinate the availability of computing & network resources.
  • Understanding and adherence to SOPs that govern the SDLC.
  • May be required to contribute to the development or modification of SOPs.
  • Contributes to the continuous improvement of our operation.
  • Ensure all work is reviewed to ensure adherence to the relevant standards.
  • Timely and accurate reporting of project status as required by the Line Manager.
  • Escalate all issues in a timely fashion.
  • Mentor junior team members in best practices and standards
  • High awareness of emerging software practices and software industry involvement
  • Identifies emerging methodologies and champions them internally to improve Sparta operations
  • Contributes to the software industry via speaking, publications, or contributions to standards
  • Proven experience in, and passion for, leading teams, mentoring staff, and driving organizational change
  • Proven record for problem resolution and successful completion of complex projects on time
  • Demonstrated professional writing/communication skills
  • Strong organization, interpersonal and management skills
  • Passionate about the digital landscape with a desire for continuous learning and development
  • Team player that can work with diverse groups across an organization
  • Experience working as part of a team to provide the optimal solution for both business needs and project standards
  • Open to operate effectively in a global environment
