The chemical and agrochemical industries are under increasing pressure to achieve and maintain compliance with industry standards such as U.S. Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA),the European Commission’s Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) legislation, ISO, and GMP. In addition, companies are purchasing raw materials from global suppliers to reduce costs and meet market demand. Although these initiatives have succeeded in reducing costs and meeting inventory requirements, it has also increased the risk by reducing visibility into production processes. As regulatory scrutiny increases, a well-implemented supplier evaluation process can help chemical manufacturers produce, manage and track chemical components effectively in order to deliver safe, quality products to their customers.
