Vice President, Research & Development
Bruce Kratz serves as Vice President of Research & Development. Bruce brings to this role over 25 years of enterprise software experience. Since joining Sparta in 2012, Bruce has led his team to compliment Sparta's market leading TrackWise product with a multi-product portfolio including SaaS products operated by Sparta. Under his leadership Sparta executed on an engineering transformation plan which now includes leading techniques such as pair programming, continuous integration and advanced automated testing.
Prior to joining Sparta Systems, Bruce was the Director of Development at IBM responsible for the Data Governance portfolio. During his tenure he led the rollout of a fully integrated development infrastructure, managed several product development teams, and was responsible for business plans of over 300 IBM products which experienced over 400% revenue growth since the acquisition of his former company Princeton Softech.
Bruce was also selected to represent IBM on special assignments in M&A as well as a long term consulting assignment in China where he served as quality and software transformation expert advising one of IBM’s largest customers in the region.
Prior to IBM, Bruce held leadership positions at multiple start-ups as well as Hewlett-Packard. Earlier in his career, Bruce also founded and grew a software consulting company. He is the co-inventor of a provisional patent for his work in distributed quality systems.
Bruce holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Monmouth University where he now serves on the School of Science Advisory Board. He also serves on the board of Thomas Edison State University Foundation as well as several advisory boards for small technology companies.
