Reporting to the CFO, the Director, Strategic & Financial Planning will support the corporate Executives and Senior Managers with timely financial decision support and analytics to drive growth and profitability. With the help of a financial analyst and a future plan to build and grow the team, the Director, Strategic & Financial Planning will also provide support for M&A activities and integration of acquired companies.

Required skills:
Required skills / Responsibilities:

  • Lead all FP&A, Strategic Planning, Annual Budget, Monthly Reporting and Forecasting aspects
  • Produce clear, concise presentations for Quarterly and Annual Budget Board meetings
  • Provide insightful financial advice and analysis to the CEO, CFO and all Executive Committee members and their direct reports
  • Drive initiatives to improve the flow of financial data, promote data integrity, and implement software solutions for budgeting/planning and sales compensation.  
  • Communicate effectively with management concerning financial objectives, KPI’s and trends
  • Partner with the Finance, Sales, HR and IT teams to improve processes and controls, including the completeness and accuracy of bookings and renewal data, as well as billings, revenue. and cost data generated by financial systems
  • Proactively identify and recommend cost efficiency and productivity initiatives
  • Develop automated processes to report and analyze revenues and costs and prepare monthly and quarterly analysis by product and type
  • Participate in the sales quota model planning process and provide support on commission calculations where necessary
  • Dynamically support and deliver ad hoc value-add projects that arise on a routine basis
  • Provide team members with opportunities to become primary finance contacts for functional leaders and promote cross-training and knowledge transfer opportunities to increase skill sets
Business and Technical Competencies:
  • Ability to build and scale a strategic FP&A team, preferably within a software / SaaS organization
  • Experience of working for, or advising, privately-held or private equity (PE) owned companies
  • Produce and deliver communications and presentations for executive and board level consumption
  • Excellent financial modeling, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
  • Expert in consolidating large and varied sets of financial data into concise business summaries
  • Strong analytical and reconciliation skills around detailed financial data
  • Demonstrate leadership and creative skills to design new business models and support organizational shift 
  • Ability to partner with leadership around strategic objectives
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills across all levels of an organization, and especially with Executives and senior management
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with a strong focus on the team
  • Must enjoy a fast-moving and complex multi-product or multi-delivery environment

Preferred Skills:
Preferred Skills / Experience and Education:
  • Experience as a Consultant, Analyst with a PE firm or Quality of Earnings Expert highly desired
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA / MBA preferred
  • 7-10 years of experience working in accounting/finance positions, with financial analysis experience at a manager or above level for at least 5 years
  • Excellent reporting, modeling and analysis capability in Excel
  • Experience with international software or technology companies, PE Firms, VC’s is desired
  • Acquisition expertise is a plus
  • CRM systems experience is preferred
